CSL Behring Fermentation Facility (Huck)

Offering Bioprocessing equipment, expertise, and services for academic, government, and industry researchers.

The CSL Behring Fermentation Facility is a biotechnology pilot plant with a variety of bioprocessing capabilities including:

  • Fermentation from flask to 300L scales
  • Downstream processing for cell disruption and biomolecule purification
  • Process monitoring for both upstream and downstream bioprocesses
  • Analytical capabilities

In conjunction with the Department of Agricultural and Biological Engineering, the facility offers technology to size and pretreat cellulosic biomass for use as a fermentation feedstock in biofuel and other fermentation processes.

An experienced staff is also available to provide education and training for university students, staff/faculty, and professional researchers.
