Fermentation Facility (Huck)

Overview of Services

Offering Bioprocessing equipment, expertise, and services for academic, government, and industry researchers. 
 The Fermentation Facility is a biotechnology pilot plant with a variety of bioprocessing capabilities including:
  • Fermentation from flask to 100L scales
  • Downstream processing for cell disruption and biomolecule purification
  • Process monitoring for both upstream and downstream bioprocesses
  • Analytical capabilities 
In conjunction with the Department of Agricultural and Biological Engineering, the Fermentation Facility offers technology to size and pretreat cellulosic biomass for use as a fermentation feedstock in biofuel and other fermentation processes.

An experienced staff is also available to provide education and training for university students, staff/faculty, and professional researchers.
